    You always have so many (neatly integrated) takeaways that it’s hard to focus on just one.

    “Consultants.” I…want…to…be…one. LOL.

    One hospital I worked for hired one to evaluate the ED. She stayed for weeks just standing and watching and ultimately suggested replacing the waiting room furniture and the addition of (possibly) an aquarium to enhance the patient experience. One of the VPs was privately apoplectic. It’s funny now but it wasn’t then.

    I used to enjoy college football … when conferences were not a large as they are now and the players were actually members of the student body. Of the three institutions I attended for undergrad and grad school (UL, Colorado School of Mines, and UT-Austin), only one (Mines) has kept the sport in proper perspective. UL is trying to become another football big-shot and UT-Austin is so far over the top that I find the emphasis on the sport to be embarrassing. That seems to be the case for nearly all major universities in the US, especially institutions of the Southeastern Conference.
